Video of my new invention (that still needs to be painted) of my DIY cable belt squat platform. The 4 - 2 x 4 blocks you see provides easier access to the cable carabineer hook  and you don't have to bend down as much, so you can hook the belt squat belt on to it.

Question: Why did I make this cable belt squat platform at an angle?

Answer: It's at an angle to better simulate where the weight is coming from. This belt squat platform is designed specifically for the Fitness Reality Pull Down & Low Row Cable Attachment.

You can actually put your feet over the lower stabilizer bar (where the pulley wheel is located) - so the weight is coming from the correct location. (The ideal cable "coming from location" should be very close to the crotch, between the legs, going straight down) So it had to be at an angle, because I couldn't get my feet close enough to the cable pulley wheel.

But since the platform is at an angle, you must hold onto something to prevent yourself from falling backward. This is an awesome platform, but it's a hassle to lean back and hold onto something during the set.

So, I decided to make another cable belt squat platform, but this new Ver. 2 is flat and has a better and higher cable hold, so all you have to do is squat down a tiny 2 inches to hook your belt squat belt to the weighted cable.

I searched the internet and there is no cable belt squat platform and the ones I have seen are the type that are like a lever with a pivot made with two 2x4's with weight plates on top. Quite primitive. And their getting on their knees to hook their belt to the weight hook.
